All Lit Up...

Last Tuesday night my family and I went out to the Mormon Temple in DC to see the Christmas lights. This has become a little tradition of ours and it's truly magical to see! The entire place is decorated with around 500,000 lights and it looks absolutely gorgeous! We walked around the property a few times and then ended our night by driving around and looking at the beautiful old houses in Chevy Chase all decorated for Christmas. I can't believe that Christmas is almost here and I really cherish these opportunities to celebrate the season.

By the way, please ignore the quality of these photos. I was more interested in soaking up the experience than I was with fidgeting with my camera settings.

The Lights at the Mormon Temple...

On Wednesday night we went as a family to see the 600,000 lights at the Mormon Temple in D.C. It was our first time going but I seriously doubt it will be our last. All of the lights are just gorgeous and walking around to look at them all was just beautiful. After that we drove around Oliver Street and looked at all of the stunning houses lit up and decorated for Christmas. We ended the night with big cups of hot cocoa and marshmallows. It was a really great night with my family and a wonderful holiday outing.

Christmastime At the Gaylord...

Tuesday night Sarah and I drove into D.C. to visit the Gaylord hotel and see it all decked out for the holidays. This hotel is gorgeous in and of itself but seeing it all lit up and filled with Christmas decorations just made it that much more stunning. We saw the lighting of the tree and then walked around to look at all the lights. We finished our evening with dinner and great conversation at Cadillac Ranch. It was a great way to start off the week before Christmas!

Oliver Street...

Yesterday I had to go to Chevy Chase to do some work for the magazine. Since I can't drive with my vertigo my dad was sweet enough to come along with me (he's the best). I'm glad that he took me because we were able to spend some quality time together. We walked around and looked in some of the stores but on our way home we drove through some of the most gorgeous neighborhoods- my dream neighborhood. I would love to live on Oliver St. The houses are huge but they are also really old and have so much charm and character about them. Plus, it was just a beautiful Fall day and the neighborhoods were just covered in pretty leaves and trees. Also, they have some of the oldest and prettiest churches. I think it's safe to say that Oliver Street has stolen my heart...

Ted's And A Bummer...

Last night we went out to Ted's Bulletin for my birthday dinner. I was so happy that I got to have my favorite peanut butter, banana, and chocolate milkshake! After dinner we strolled around Barracks row and stopped inside a few shops. It was quite a lovely time.

On the other hand, I can't find the battery charger for my camera. This really bums me out because I want to experiment so badly with the new lens that I got for my birthday. Also, because of that I am drawing blanks on what to post on the blog until I can find it. Maybe I will just have to gig win and order a new one. Either that or there will just be a lot of instagram posts for a while :)
