Fayetteville, WV...

This past weekend my mom & I headed out to WV with my grandparents for a family reunion. The last time that I went I was just a little thing and I felt like it was time for me to go again. It was so great seeing members of my family that I hadn't seen in a long time. Our family basically took over the hotel and boy, are we a crazy bunch! I especially loved sharing a room with my Aunt Dawn who is so dear to me. We had our own screening of High Fidelity & there were late night conversations that lasted until 2 am. We also spent some time exploring the town. I got to see where my grandparents first met and the theater that my grandmother worked at when she was a teenager. But most of all I loved being able to spend time with my family, to laugh until we cried, and to just talk about life in general. Those are the important things.

Tennessee in IPhone Photos...

I'm back! I had the most fab time on my trip and I'm missing it all already! Sorry for being M.I.A. for the past week but I was just so busy having fun and I didn't have any of the time to blog that I thought I would. Oh well, that's why it's called "vacation," right?! I wanted to post some of the photos that I captured with my phone in the last week. If you follow me on instagram you have probably seen most of these, but still, they are some great memories from my trip!

I hope everyone has a fantastic July 4th complete with bbq and sparklers!

P.s. Also, don't forget to follow me on bloglovin' now that Google Reader is finished!

Peace and Love,

Over the Weekend...

Saturday was all about family. I spent the day with my parents, sister, and grandparents as we celebrated my sister's graduation from high school. There was piano playing, good food, s'mores, and I even inherited a couple of great records that used to be my mom's. It was an absolutely beautiful day and I'm so happy that we all got to spend some quality time together.

Peace and Love,

We Were Stuffed...

This past weekend we drove out to Reston, VA to spend time with my Mom's side of the family. I love Reston and was happy that we got to spend some time there shopping and walking around. We ate lunch at The American Tap Room. Let me tell you, this place had some GOOD food. I tried fried pickles for the first time and enjoyed their bacon jalapeƱo mac and cheese. After lunch a few of us split up. My mom, aunt, and I ran over to the Red Velvet Cupcakery to pick up some treats while the rest of our group walked over to Apple to help my grandmother purchase her first iPad. We stuck around and peeked into a few different shops and then headed to my Aunt and Uncle's house to chat and enjoy our cupcakes. It was a fun and relaxing day and I hope that we can do it again soon.

Trip To Tenn: Franklin...

We couldn't visit Tennessee without going to Franklin. We started the day off without much of a plan. We debated between where we would go and what we would do (a tour of country star's homes was in the works), but eventually we settled on Franklin because of, what else, the shopping! Unfortunately my Uncle had to go into work that day so we made a full girls day out of it. Because it was Memorial day a lot of the shops were closed but we did get to go inside places like Lulu's which kept us more than busy. For lunch we ate at the Franklin Mercantile Deli. We ended up waiting in line for about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait. This place was everything I picture about the South! Lots of different teas, drinks served in mason jars, flowers in little cans on every table, mixed and matched tables and chairs. Oh, and the baked potato salad was TO DIE FOR!! We ended our day in Franklin by spending hours inside an antique mall. There was just so much to look at and so many treasures to be found. I was happy to bring home a little vintage brownie camera with me. I would say that we got a little taste of everything and had the perfect Franklin experience.

Trip To Tenn: Nashville...

On our road trip we also spent a hot day in Nashville. We were all so excited to go to the city and even more excited while we were actually there. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. We spent a lot of time going into shops, one of my favorites being the Hatch Print Shop! Thanks for taking us there Uncle Greg!! We also got to shop for vinyl and look at some beautiful cowboy boots. One of my favorite things was hearing all the live music and I loved the time that my Aunt and I spent inside "Tootsie's" listening to a band play! We also ate at "Margaritaville." Apparently Keith Urban is a regular! And since I was in the South I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a burger soaked in sweet tea and toped with grilled peaches! Yum. To top it off, we also got to drive around Nashville and end our day by going to the Opry Hotel! Gorgeous and such a fun place!! My family was so great for taking us all around and I had a blast!!
