Think Pink...

 

You might remember that it's on my list of things to do before I die to dye my hair pink. Lately, I have been stumbling upon some pretty rad dye jobs. There's also a girl in one of my college courses who has bright pink hair and I kind of love it! I don't see myself doing this any time soon but one day, when the time is right, I promise you it will happen. In the meantime I'll just gather up as much inspiration as possible :)

Decisions, Decisions...

This girl is ready for a change! In other words, I'm ready to cut my hair. I haven't had it cut since early last year since I am trying to grow the length out but it needs a little sprucing up. I think I have decided that I want bangs. I've had bangs before and liked them but this time I want them a little more styled. I still haven't fully decided on what type of look I want but here are a few photos that show what I'm leaning towards. So far I think I like the Taylor Swift look the best. What do you think?! Any thoughts or suggestions?

Finally...

It has been over a year since I got my hair cut and today I finally got around to getting it trimmed and styled. You may remember when I cut my hair REALLY short in 2011. It was a freeing experience. I was starting a new chapter in my life and I wanted a change. I'm glad that I did it but now I am dead set on growing my hair LONG. I was happy to get rid of all my dead ends today and to have a fresh new cut! Now I can check that one off of the list for a while :)

2 Obsessions...

 I thought I would share with you two things that I have become obsessed with this week. 

One: buns. I am letting my hair and bangs grow out and a lot of the time I just want it out of the way. I'll throw it up but it never looks very good. This week I took the time to figure out how to make a pretty bun and I love it! So easy and cute and perfect for the days that I am in a hurry. 

Two: Starbucks drive thru's. We all know how much I adore Starbucks but this week I was just super happy that we have a new drive thru right down the street. It's not good for my wallet but it's good for my soul.

Even Shorter...

I got more of my hair cut off! I LOVE it!!! It's so short and fun and super edgy!

Shorty...

It's all gone! My hair feels so healthy and light! I love having short hair for the summer, all you have to do is wash it and you are good to go.

Hippie Hair...

I have always wanted wavy, tousled, long hair. But my sister got the wavy hair and mine was as straight as could be. Then when I would start to grow my hair long I would get the urge to chop it all off and so I would cut it short. So now that my hair is getting pretty long and thanks to a perm I now have a little wave my hair is starting to look like I have always wanted it to. Here are some pictures of my hair inspiration: What I have been doing to get my hippie look is: I part my hair down the middle. Then I blow dry it and just run my fingers through it (don't use a brush). Then I use big rollers to curl the bangs and the top of my head (for volume) and then use different sized rollers for the sides of my hair. I keep it in for about twenty minutes. Run my fingers through, maybe add a little hairspray, and I'm done! So easy and I love it! Peace and Love,

Perm-Tastic...

I tried getting a perm a couple years ago and it didn't take at all. I was tried of my hair being so straight so I decided to give it another try with my amazing hair-dresser, Bobbie. And guess what! It worked! I can't believe I actually have curly hair now! I just wanted a little bit of a wave and the curls should calm down within the next couple weeks. I'm loving it!

I LOVE my Hair...

Today we were bored so my mom decided to cut my hair. My bangs were getting way too long and my layers were all starting to blend together. Turns out that my mom is really good at cutting hair. I am so happy with what she did. I adore the bangs and the layers and everything! Thank you mommy! You can cut my hair anytime!

I'm Goo Goo...

Guess who I was with last night.

Maddie and I went and saw the Goo Goo Dolls last night and it was an amazing! I apologize for the lack of photos and videos but the last time we went to this venue all of that stuff wasn't permitted. Little did I know that this time they would forget to search my bag and I could have easily brought my camera and flip video. I have to admit that I got jealous every time I saw a flash going off because that was just one more picture that I couldn't take.

It was our second time seeing them and we couldn't wait. Switchfoot was the openeing band. I had already seen them before but it was Maddie's first time and I think she really liked them. I hate that time in between the opening act and the headlining band when you are just sitting there waiting. Then it was finally time for the Goo Goo Dolls to come out. Everytime we have seen them they open with all of these really cool lighting effects and this time they did not dissappoint. Then Johnny Rzeznik himself walked out through a mist of dry ice and ladies let me tell you that the hair is really as amazing as it seems.

It was such a rad show. I was so happy because they played one of my favorites, Big Machine. Of course they did all the hits: Black Balloon, Iris, Broadway, Let Love In, Name, etc. Maddie and I had a great time and we never wanted it to end. Both of us can't wait for the next time that the boys are in town.

If you can't wait until then, their new album is coming out on Aug 31st. Also the video for their first single off the album premiered today. Here it is below!

A Darker Side...

Summer Hair...

It's hard for me to figure out to do with my hair most of the time. Brandi over at mucho mucho bueno bueno is a hippie chick who does hair for a living. A lot of the time she will post instructions on simple but cute ways to do your hair. My favorite so far has been this braid. I love it! It is so easy to do and it looks really pretty! Here are brandi's instructions for how to do it!

This style is perfect for summer.

Junior Soiree Part 1...

My day started out with hair at 8:30. As usual Bobbie did a fantastic job and got me done in one appointment so I didn't have to wait around. She never disappoints and I love my new bangs!

So here's a little bit of the cut (she didn't style it but you get the idea):
And this is how she styled it for soiree! I brought the flower (it was the same color as all my other accessories):
It was way to early for me to be up on a Saturday morning so after my hair was done it was time for a coffee break!I got the usual, which is a dark chocolate turtle mocha, and it was delicious as always :)

Then after we had about an hour to breath it was time to head over to Smashbox to get my makeup done.
The girl who did my makeup was so sweet and helpful, and she did a fabulous job! I ended up buying a butt-load of Smashbox makeup. Thanks Spencer and Sarah!


Then I rushed home and finished getting all dolled up. Before I could go we had to take some glamor shots!
Then it was time to head off to the cocktail reception...

1 Day Until Soiree...

So the Junior Soiree is tomorrow and here is how my day will be spent:

8:30 hair cut

10:00 hair styled

12:00 Makeup done at Smashbox

2:00 Arrive at the cocktail party

5:00-ish leave to go to Annapolis and get on the Yacht

9:00 head to the after party

So as you can see I am pretty booked tomorrow. Somehow I have to fit eating and getting dressed into my schedule but I think I will be able to manage. Needless to say I am hitting the hay pretty early tonight, but before I do I wanted to show you what my plans are for my hair :)

For the cut I want to keep my bangs (I love my bangs) but I am looking to do a little something different and add some more layers so I am drawing my inspiration from the lovely Tiffani Thiessen.
Then for the actual soiree I want it to be curled and probably up but on the side a little bit so I have been looking at these:
But I want to add a little hippie flair so I am also thinking about maybe adding a braid in there somehow like this:
Anyway, we'll see how it goes! I will try and take tons of pictures tomorrow!
