My Favorite Fall Albums...

These are the records that first pop into my head when I think of Fall. Some of them I won't even listen to until the air starts to get chilly and the leaves change colors. My favorite tracks off of these albums are:

* Bon Iver, For Emma, Forever Ago: Flume, The Wolves, & For Emma.
*She & Him, I Put A Spell on You: I Put a Spell on You.
*Florence & the Machine, Lungs: Howl, Drumming Song, Cosmic Love, & Blinding.
*Neil Young, Harvest: Out on the Weekend, Old Man, & The Needle and the Damage Done.
*CSNY, Deja Vu: Teach Your Children, Helpless, & Our House.
*Fleet Foxes, Fleet Foxes: White Winter Hymnal, Ragged Wood, He Doesn't Know Why, Your Protector, & Meadowlarks.

What are some of your favorite records to listen to during Fall?

Young Love...

There is nothing quite like when a new vinyl record comes in the mail. It's just that feeling of ripping off the plastic and putting on that record. Listening to it for the first time all the way through. I actually hadn't really bought any records this Summer until last week when I ordered Mat Kearney's Young Love. This record is so fun and catchy. A great record to end the Summer with.

My favorite songs on the record would have to be:

1. Ships in the Night
2. Young and Dumb and in Love
3. Hey Mama (so fun to dance to!)

Peace and Love,
Em

The Little Things...

It's the little things like Gingerbread Lattes from Starbucks and Christmas records in the mail that get me through the long days.

Hope everyone had a happy Thursday!

Today Was Perfect For...

After work today I came home and just did a couple of my favorite things. I listened to records while I got crafty, I wrote in my journal, and I took a nice little nap. A pretty swell way to spend my Saturday. Off to do some reading before bedtime.

Peace and Love,
Em

A Very She and Him Christmas...

I was so excited when my "She and Him" record came in the mail the other day! I've listened to a few songs off of it but I kind of want to save it for closer to Christmas. I love the pictures for the album and the sleeve is covered in snowflakes. The best part is that the actual record is RED!!!! I can't wait for december! Here's a little taste of what the album sounds like:

New LP's...

I promised myself that this summer I would buy more vinyl and I finally got some. On Monday, two Neil Young albums came in the mail. I was so excited! Neil Young basically is summer to me and I love listening t him on warm summer nights. I'm also really happy because I have another Neil Young album on its way to my house! His songs are so dreamy! 21...

Today Adele's new record arrived in the mail! Nothing makes me happier than coming home to a new record! I first heard her song "Rolling In the Deep" and fell in love with it and then when I heard her album described as "dreamy" I knew I had to get it. It does not disappoint. In fact, it is in a word "dreamy." I love her voice and the blues sound that is in every song. Get this record. It's great! Peace and Love,
Em

Tea And Records...

I came home today, got comfy, and just sat and listened to records and drank tea. It was some good "me" time. I'm reading a book and these girls go and sit and talk in a barn and drink hot cups of tea. I was inspired! I think it's so important to take some time out of your day and just do things that you love. For me today that was tea and records. Peace and Love,
Em

What I Did Today...

I was home again today trying to get back to my healthy self. Of course my day included lots of naps but it included some other things too.
I started my Alice in Wonderland that my sister got me for Christmas.

I watched The Time Traveler's Wife and fell in love with it even though I hated it the first time I saw it. (I want to read the book now).
And what girl would deny this making her happy?

I watched a little Twilight.

I ordered both of these records which I am really excited to get!!

And I ended my night with a strawberry milkshake and a Glee marathon with my sister.
Hopefully I am on my way to a full recovery.

Peace and Love,
Em

My Favorite Christmas Records...

Every year I make a new Christmas playlist. Over the years I have fallen in love with some Christmas records. All of them are different and beautiful. I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you.

1. Snowed In- Hanson

Besides being my favorite band ever, Hanson has a fantastic Christmas cd. It's upbeat and fun! I tend to wrap all my presents while listening to it. It's also good to listen to while baking. It has a blues sound to it. It's pretty fantastic.

2. Wintersong- Sarah Mclachlan

This album hit stores a couple years ago and stole my heart when I first heard it. It's typical Sarah Mclachlan: beautiful acoustics and a lovely voice. There are a lot of classic holiday songs along with some not so traditional. It's perfect to listen to while sitting around the fire.

3. Christmas with the Rat Pack
I love a good crooner and this record has them all: Sammy Davis, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra. It's a wonderful album that will definitely give you that classic Christmas feel. You will be in the holiday mood in no time.

4. Boogie Woogie Christmas- Brian Setzer

With this record you will have a rockin' time. Brian Setzer puts out some great Christmas albums. This one is fun and upbeat and will have you in a good mood in no time.

5. Gold and Green- Sugarland

This record is perfect for those of you who don't mind a little country in your life. I personally love Jennifer Nettles voice and this album shows it off in a big way. I love all the acoustic songs on this album. It's filled with traditional songs and has a great sound. My favorite song is "O come, O come Emmanuel."

6. The Hotel Cafe Presents Winter Songs

This record is so mellow and cool. With various singer-songwriter sirens contributing to its awesomeness you can't go wrong. This is definitely a must have for the holiday season.

7. Oh Blue Christmas- A Fine Frenzy

A Fine Frenzy has a great voice and style to her. This record does not disappoint. It has a soulful yet innocent sound that you bring you peace on earth.

Peace and Love,
Em
