Rainy Day Coffee Date...

There's really nothing better than grabbing a cup of coffee (in my case a cappuccino) and having a long talk with a friend. Last Thursday my friend, Cynthia, and I went downtown to Annapolis to enjoy some of the local coffee shops and play around with her adorable new pooch! Unfortunately, the weather had other plans and it was pouring rain and in the 50s. We grabbed drinks at City Dock and found a spot underneath an awning close to the water and sat and chatted for a few hours. We talked about our summer plans, books that we're reading and books that we want to read, and our future goals. It was just what I needed and made for the perfect start to my weekend.

Coffee & Wind...

One thing that has become so clear to me these past couple of days is how much I love and cherish my morning coffee time. It's the only time that I have by myself when everyone else is at work or is still asleep. I just get to read my Bible and meditate while I sip on my hot cup of joe and sit with the dog. It's also really the only time that I get to catch up on shows and watch the tv that I want :) I just love this time in the morning. I get to relax and read my blogs, make plans, and clear my head...

  

In other news, these past couple of days have been so windy here! And when I say windy I mean creepy wind noises  coming through the window like in horror movies windy.  It's so funny to walk around campus and see everyone blowing around, myself included. I do hate driving in this wind though. It's scary!!

A Little Chai...

Today I was able to go on a lovely coffee date with my friend Sarah. We went to Starbucks, I ordered a chai latte, and we sat there for a few hours talking. Little outings like this are very important to me. I think it's vital to make a little time for yourself and your friends during the week just to catch up and pour your hearts out.  

I hope that everyone has a beautiful Friday night. Mine involves pancakes and journaling :)

Coffee and Vinyl...

I loved yesterday. I didn't have school and I woke up to a Turtle Mocha and cranberry scone (props to my dad!) A bunch of records are coming in the mail for me lately and I have loved listening to these new and vintage albums. Nothing better than coffee and vinyl.

Cup Of Joe...

Starting my day off with a big cup of coffee. I will be practicing my thesis speech all day (I go tomorrow.) I just want it to be over with. I told my self that I wouldn't worry but I know I'm gonna get anxious. But you can't ever start a day off without coffee :) Happy Wednesday!

A Day In the Life of a Sick Chick...

Day three of being sick. I will not go into the long list of symptoms that are making me feel awful but let me just say there are quite a few. And day three has thrown some curve balls with random fevers popping up every couple of hours. I've spent most of the day laying on the couch with a book, snuggling with the puppy, and renting movies. I also have fallen in love with some new music today. Fell asleep to a wonderful set of songs last night. Just sipped down a toasty cup of coffee and am ready to be rocked to sleep by some soft music.

October Photoshoot...

Yesterday Alyssa, Heather, and I headed to Belvoir Mansion to do a Fall Photoshoot! It was so much fun and I couldn't be happier with the way the pictures turned out. It was cold and we downed a lot of coffee but it was well worth it. I will post a majority of the pictures in the next few days but for now here are a few of my favorites.

One More Day...

So I was going to blog about the weekend today but I have been trying to spruce up the ole' blog and it is taking up to much time, so tonight is gonna be a small post.

I went to school today absolutely tired and barely able to keep my eyes open. It was a long day but coffee helped me make it through. It was just a regular day in the life of this hippie. Nothing strange or extreordinary happened.

Fall Is In The Air...

Normally I am not a big fan of Fall. I think it's because I am so excited for Christmas that I just want to skip October and November. But I think Fall is starting to grow on me and I am excited for it. The past couple of days have been perfect days for a hot turtle mocha, pumpkin bread, and scarves!! So I am excited for Fall. I am excited to try new things!

Coffee Chat...

After school today Alyssa and I went out to coffee. It was so nice being able to just sit and talk with her for almost 2 hours. Both of us know each other so well that we always understand where the other one is coming from. I know that when we are talking neither of us is judging the other person. It's like a fun therapy session! lol I'm lucky to have a friend like lyss. Without her I just might explode!

After school today Maddie and I stopped to grab a quick Pick-me-up. I can't believe how tired school has made me already. I am already counting down the days to Christmas break.

College Girl...

This little lady is heading off to college tomorrow. Carrie will be attending Messiah in PA. I went over to her house yesterday to help her pack and spend some time with her before she left. We have had some really fun times together and it was so hard helping her pack up all her stuff knowing that she wasn't gonna be around all the time. It was a big reality check for me knowing that I am going to be a senior this year and I have all of these big changes hitting me. I mean I will be going to college next year. College! Carrie and I listened to Hellogoodbye and Keane while we drank coffee in her room and laughed about old times. We also continued our tradition of watching Arrested Development. I'm sad that I won't be able to hang out with Carrie whenever I want to now but I know she will have an amazing time at college. I love that girl :)

Junior Soiree Part 1...

My day started out with hair at 8:30. As usual Bobbie did a fantastic job and got me done in one appointment so I didn't have to wait around. She never disappoints and I love my new bangs!

So here's a little bit of the cut (she didn't style it but you get the idea):
And this is how she styled it for soiree! I brought the flower (it was the same color as all my other accessories):
It was way to early for me to be up on a Saturday morning so after my hair was done it was time for a coffee break!I got the usual, which is a dark chocolate turtle mocha, and it was delicious as always :)

Then after we had about an hour to breath it was time to head over to Smashbox to get my makeup done.
The girl who did my makeup was so sweet and helpful, and she did a fabulous job! I ended up buying a butt-load of Smashbox makeup. Thanks Spencer and Sarah!


Then I rushed home and finished getting all dolled up. Before I could go we had to take some glamor shots!
Then it was time to head off to the cocktail reception...

Friday Night Fever....

I spent the evening with the darling Caroline and Carrie :) After getting lost (just a little) I made it to Carrie's and we picked up Chinese food for dinner.
Guess what! My fortune cookie said that one of my lucky numbers was 18!! Isn't that ironic. I can't believe that in less than a month I will be turning 18 and will be a legal adult!! Ahhh!!

After dinner we made our own coffee!
After coffee we watched Liv Tyler in The Strangers and almost peed our pants. So creepy! We ended the night with a little Arrested Development. What a great way to kick off the weekend!

Weekend Fun...

Last Friday night I hung out with my good friends Carrie and Caroline. We went out to Thai dinner at Lemongrass and then off to get some dessert and coffee.We came back to my place to watch some Christian Bale and found out that the telethon for Haiti was on. Well when we saw Mel Gibson and Jason Bateman sitting next to each other we had to call. After 40 minutes and around 300 calls the lines were still busy. We continued trying to call through out the night hoping that some attractive celebrity man would answer the phone but it never happened :( We ended the night watching some Christian Bale in 3:10 to Yuma. It still wasn't as great as talking to some of our favorite leading men but it did the trick.
