First Day...

Yesterday marked the beginning of another year of college for me. I am on a new campus, experiencing new things, and I get to share some of it with my sister! And even though school isn't my favorite thing, I do love pretty school supplies! This year I got all of my gear at Target and found some really cute things. I especially love my floral portfolio and my colorful notebooks. Here's to another successful semester!

It's Been A Long Day...

Right when I walked onto campus this morning I found out that my first class of the day was cancelled. I had two whole hours to myself before my next class. I got some work done but for the most part I listened to my iPod and stared at my feet. Then, during my last class of the day all of the power went out and we had to evacuate. People kept saying there was a gas leak and alarms were going off. I was just glad to come home. Oh and I saw my first colored leaf for Fall.

Much Love...

I used to hate school. I used to dread waking up every morning. I knew that there was going to be lots of hard work and that I would come home tired and upset. Last year was possibly the worst year of them all. There were days when I didn't know if I would make it through.
This year has been great. I am a Senior and loving it. I still have work and I still get tired but there is one thing that keeps me going. I LOVE my FRIENDS. I love each and every single person that is in my class. Most of us have known each other for years. We have jokes that only our grade gets. we've been to Europe together. We are a FAMILY. I hate the fact that next year we will all be apart. Even though the school year has just started it feels like the days are flying by. I am trying to cherish every single last moment that I have with these people. We may not be happy with each other all the time, but we will always love each other. The experience that I have been able to have at Rockbridge is like no other. No other school has classes that are as close as ours are.

I hate thinking about all of us leaving. I wish we could just start our own college that all of us could go to together. We may have some rough days here and there but I am so excited to spend the year with these brothers and sisters. I am so blessed to know all of them and I love them all so much!

Peace and Love,
Em
P.S. These cupcakes barely lasted a day. lol!

Hump Day...

You should proud of this girl.
-No Oriole's games have been watched.
-No books have been read.
-No music has been listened to.
-No snacks have been eaten.

All I have done tonight is work on papers and speeches and study for a quiz. Of course, this girl is not the happiest of girls at the moment and would much rather be doing one of the things listed above. But I will survive (I think) and continue working after this blog has been posted. I don't know if I have ever been as excited for sleep as I am tonight!

I Need Coffee...

I haven't been able to sleep well for two nights in a row. It's just been a whole mess of tossing and turning, getting too hot and then getting too cold, all of which has led to major pain in my back and neck. Because I couldn't sleep last night I stayed home from school today so that I could rest up and work on a paper that is due on Thursday. It was so soothing just to lay on the couch this morning while the radio rocked me to sleep :) I think I'm gonna call it quits early tonight so that I can be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the the morning!

Thursday...

After school today Maddie and I stopped to grab a quick Pick-me-up. I can't believe how tired school has made me already. I am already counting down the days to Christmas break.

Decisions, Decisions...

So I am making over my room.

Since I am going into my Senior year and will most likely be living at home for the first few years of college I want my room to be a place that I enjoy hanging out in.
I mean it's not bad now, but it doesn't look like an 18 year old lives in it.
I am ready for something a little more chic and grown-up.

My first task is picking out the paint color. Right now I am leaning towards the one on the top right. It's called Gypsy Moth by Martha Stewart. However, when it comes to making final decisions I'm not always the best. Oh well, I am ready for a change. My favorite color will always be plum but I can't deal with it being on my walls anymore.

Em

Last But Not Least...

I'm About to Crash...

I came home today and slept until 7:30 only to go out at 9:30 to hang out with friends. And to add to all the sleep that I have already lost, I have to be up early to go to work. There are just not enough hours in the day.
A bunch of us went over to my friend Drew's house tonight and sat on the back porch and watched the school's production of Oklahoma! It was really fun!
I think I'm gonna head off to bed.
Before I go, here's a little color for your weekend :)

Spring Concert 2010...

Last night was the school's Spring Concert. This is going to be my last year in Concert Choir because I have decided to take Journalism next year. It was kinda bittersweet to be up there for the last time. On the one hand I will be so happy that I can burn my choir dress, but on the other hand some of those choir fieldtrips were super fun. But I am happy with my decision and I now that taking Journalism will be great experience for what I want to do in college. Anyway I had fun last night and it was a good last hoorah!

Here's Kevin, Krista and Sarah. All so cute!

And I don't know why Gilbert was wearing this...

...he isn't Jewish.

Deep Breaths...

My face has permanently been like this for weeks. School work might be the death of me. I don't want to hear the word thesis at all this summer. Only a few more weeks to go though and then I am done and off to Europe! Painting and reading are like the only things I want to do right now. I need to concentrate, that's what I need to do.

Hope everyone's week continues to be sunny.

Today...

I didn't like today.

It rained.
I'm grumpy.
My schoolwork is about to eat me alive.
I told myself I was gonna cut back on chocolate and I have already had 2 mini raspberry 3 Musketeers and 4 dark chocolate Dove eggs since I have been home.
My face is breaking out like crazy.
The house is freezing.
My teachers don't seem to care that all of their students are ready to jump out a window.
I desperately want to shop but I need to save my money for Grand Tour.
I haven't been able to watch an Orioles game since last Thursday.

That's pretty much it. I hope that tomorrow will be better.

Love,
Em

Yesterday, Doesn't Seem So Far Away.....

I started off my morning with one of these! So yummy and colorful!
After a few texts and phone calls I jumped in the shower to get ready to go out with some friends :) After changing our plans about four times we finally settled on going to the mall.

Our first stop was Macy's. We were trying to help Betty find a dress for soiree. I was not really looking for myself but I did see this dress and thought it was fun :)
Unfortunately it was a size three and there was no way I was going to attempt and put it on.

Suzannie found herself this dress which was really cute:

She got it for soiree but I think it would make a great garden party or Easter dress :)

We then met up with our friends Meredith and Kayla. And let me tell you it was time for coffee!
So we shot over to Starbucks!
Suzannie and Betty while we were waiting for our coffee.

Vanilla Latte in hand and with a little love note from our table we were ready to keep shopping.
We checked out some other stores from which all of us left empty handed.

Then I went with Meredith and Kayla to a vintage clothing store. We spent way too much time there and ended up in a major time crunch. The girls needed to get to play rehearsal in Brooklyn for opening night and they had less than an hour and a half! Luckily things worked out and they even made it to practice early!

After a 4:30 pm lunch and dinner almost an hour later we hopped in the car to go to opening night of Oklahoma!

I was so impressed with everyone in the production! I was so amazed at how talented all of my friends are! The play was amazing. I am so proud of everyone and all the hard work has definitely paid off. I hope the next three shows are as great as the first.

After hanging out with the cast for a while and praising them all for their amazing talents it was time to go home. I was exhausted.

I went upstairs to change into my pj's but I ended up laying on the floor thinking for a few minutes. I had received a message from my uncle that brought me to tears during the intermission. I had a lot on my mind..
So that's what I did yesterday. haha hope you all have a great Friday and a great start to your weekend :)

Love,
Em
