Day In Connecticut...

The first full day of our road trip was spent in Connecticut. We walked around Groton, ate at diners, saw some of the prettiest little houses, saw some history, went to downtown Mystic, and enjoyed cherries and strawberry ice smoothies.Peace and Love,

Sorry...

No, I have not dropped off of the face of the earth, I've just been super busy with graduation and family coming into town and everything. Thursday my two closest friends took me for my birthday shopping trip. We had such a great time and it was wonderful to be able to hang out just the three of us.

I will be back with regular posts starting tomorrow.

Peace and Love,

Little Notes...

This will probably be the last note that Suzanne ever passes me in class. We used to do it all the time. We send each other favorite quotes from movies, lyrics to songs, and inside jokes. I still have all the notes she passed me saved somewhere. This one is special because it is our favorite Beatles song and something that we quote non-stop all the time. I love little notes. I wish I wrote more of them.

Private Property...

So on Friday night while I was driving all the girls to Haylee's house to watch a movie, we drove past this field that I have always wanted to take pictures of. I told the girls how much I loved that field and wanted to get a couple shots of it and Suzanne said, "Well, pull over and let's do it!" So that's just what I did. I got a little nervous because of the big farmhouse and the private property signs but we parked far away and I don't think we really trespassed. It was so beautiful: the golden grass and the rows of trees! So whoever you are thanks for letting us borrow your field for a while! It made for some cool pictures :) Peace and Love,

Girls Night At Metro...

Last night was girls night. Suzanne, Sarah, Haylee and I all went out for dinner at the Metro diner and then watched a movie. It's so nice to have people that you are comfortable with and can talk to anything about. We laughed so hard that we cried last night! lol It was great to catch up and spend time together just us girls. Peace and Love,

I Can Now Legally Drink In Canada...

Yesterday I turned 19! I woke up to a bundle of balloons floating in my bedroom and a big chocolate chip muffin for my breakfast. I got to open one present in the morning but I had to go to school. My girlfriends had my desk stocked with a gift and cards. For lunch, my friend Megan made confetti cupcakes with strawberry icing (yummy!) and the girls I mentor sang to me. My mom had left a special note in my lunch that made me smile. Mom gave us money so that after school Maddie and I could stop and get drinks from Chick-fil-a. When we got home I was able to open the rest of my presents, which were all so GREAT! This year I hadn't planned a party. Life has just been busy and I didn't really have the time. I figured I would spend my actual birthday out with my family and then the next night my girlfriends and I could go out for dinner. But schedules got messed up and my girlfriends were busy so my plan didn't work. Instead I said to myself, "I would love to go to the Orioles' game on my birthday!" Sarah said she could come to that so we bought tickets and I was so excited. But then, it started to RAIN! The game was delayed for an hour and then they cancelled it. I spent the night of my birthday in the freezing rain, sitting on some concrete steps at Camden Yards. Stupid.

But I was with my family and one of my best friends so it was all good. We came home and Suzanne came over for cake. We had triple chocolate and coconut (double yum!). Then the girls and I watched one of my favorite episodes of "Psych" and the night was done.

So while I had a really low-key birthday it didn't suck. I was upset about the Orioles' game but things could have been worse. I got wonderful gifts and got to spend time with my loving family and friends and that's what it's all about.

I am aiming to do a gift post on Monday of all the fabulous things I got!

Stay tuned tomorrow for 10 Things I Love this week!

Peace and Love,

Em

P.S. Sorry for the blurry images. Maddie was laughing while she took them :)
