All Lit Up...

Last Tuesday night my family and I went out to the Mormon Temple in DC to see the Christmas lights. This has become a little tradition of ours and it's truly magical to see! The entire place is decorated with around 500,000 lights and it looks absolutely gorgeous! We walked around the property a few times and then ended our night by driving around and looking at the beautiful old houses in Chevy Chase all decorated for Christmas. I can't believe that Christmas is almost here and I really cherish these opportunities to celebrate the season.

By the way, please ignore the quality of these photos. I was more interested in soaking up the experience than I was with fidgeting with my camera settings.

December Favorites...

December Favorites 2013
Today I am sharing a few of my favorite things for the month of December!

1. Starting off with thermal leggings. I don't have this particular pair from PINK but I have a few pairs that I live in during the winter. I just love the fair isle pattern on these!

2. Next are these mercury glass trees from Target. They are part of the Threshold collection (which I adore) and when I saw them at the store I had to pick up a few. They are the perfect mix of vintage and modern and I love the shade of blue throughout!

3. I became a little obsessed with the candles at Bath and Body Works this year. They have had some great sales and I stocked up as much as I could. My favorite scent right now is "Snow Day." It's the perfect blend of peppermint and fir trees.

4. Michael Buble's Christmas record has been on constant repeat for the past few days. In fact, I'm watching his Holiday Special as I type this! He is so classy and his music is just flawless. My favorite track has to be #12.

5. Everyone knows that I love my Essie nail polishes. I decided that my color for this Christmas would be "Toggle to the Top." It's a beautiful berry-red with a lot of sparkle! I can't get over this color.

6. My lips get so chapped during the winter time and the candy cane chap stick is my favorite! It smells SO good and does wonders for my lips!

7. You can't go through December and not enjoy the seasonal drinks at Starbucks. My favorites during winter are chai lattes and peppermint mochas. But then again, you can never go wrong with anything from Starbucks :)

8. Finally, there is nothing I like more than the December issue of "Martha Stewart Living." This year's issue is full of yummy recipes, homemade gifts, and lots of holiday cheer. If you haven't picked up a copy I highly recommend it!

So, there are some of my favorite things for December! What are some of your favorite things for this month?

Snowfall Part 1....

We have been blessed with a few days of snow this week. We didn't get anything major, but still, it was white and beautiful! I've always loved going out and taking pictures of the snow and this time wasn't any different. I love how perfect it all looks after it has just fallen and before anyone has touched or walked on it. I'm only sharing a few photos today because with finals and everything I just haven't had time to edit them all. I plan on posting a part 2 to this on Monday because, honestly, I can't get enough of photos like these. I have been going crazy over the gorgeous snow pictures that some of my favorite bloggers have been posting <3 .="" nbsp="" p="">

Happy Little Things...

I am in love with this time of year! I live for the Christmas music/movies, the baking, the time spent with friends and family- I could go on forever! I have one week left until the semester is over and I couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to forget about homework and just get to enjoying the season. I have been able to squeeze in a few December-like things, like sipping on a chai latte while I looked through the December edition of Martha Stewart Living. We have decorated one of our trees and still have one to go. Once the semester is over I will get around to decorating my room as well. Right now I am just cherishing all the things that I love about this time of year. Are you as crazy about it as I am?

What I Wore...

On Thanksgiving my family and I spent the day at my uncle's house with my dad's side of the family. There were about 24 of us total so we had quite a big Thanksgiving! I knew that I wanted to be comfortable but I still wanted to dress up a little for the holiday. I ended up wearing one of my favorite sweaters that I bought this year from Threadsence. I love this sweater so much. It is hi-low style and has silver metallic thread woven throughout so it has a little shimmer to it. To dress it up a little I added a statement necklace that my mom had gotten me from Anthropologie for Christmas last year. I paired it with some black leggings and   brown suede boots from Madewell.

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Now we can go into full Christmas mode!

Peace and Love,
Em
