DIY Coffee Mug...

I love to do crafty things. It helps me relax and I love coming out of it having made something cute and fun! I had seen lots of pins on pinterest of people decorating their own coffee mugs with sharpies or paint and it is something that I have wanted to try out for a long time. I mean, c'mon, I get to mix crafts and coffee!?! I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up this huge mug (I think the bigger the coffee mug, the better!) and I grabbed a Sharpie oil-based paint pen. I have heard that if you use regular sharpies the design washes off. This pen said it was perfect for coffee mugs and it hasn't come off yet :) I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do design-wise so I settled on tiny dots with a few surprise hearts here and there. I let it sit for 24-hours after I painted it and then cooked it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. I can't wait to go back and get more supplies to make more of these! They had so many different colors for the paint pens! I'm going to work on some ideas and then get to creating. I think these would make such cool gifts.

Peace and Love,
Em
