Observed: The Road Home...

While driving home from TN I got to enjoy some pretty gorgeous scenery. I loved seeing all of the farms and cows and horses as we passed by. Not to mention the mountains- I love the mountains! Getting to look at pretty things definitely made the long drive enjoyable. Part of the fun of traveling is getting to where you are going and soaking up your surroundings.

Trip To Tenn: Franklin...

We couldn't visit Tennessee without going to Franklin. We started the day off without much of a plan. We debated between where we would go and what we would do (a tour of country star's homes was in the works), but eventually we settled on Franklin because of, what else, the shopping! Unfortunately my Uncle had to go into work that day so we made a full girls day out of it. Because it was Memorial day a lot of the shops were closed but we did get to go inside places like Lulu's which kept us more than busy. For lunch we ate at the Franklin Mercantile Deli. We ended up waiting in line for about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait. This place was everything I picture about the South! Lots of different teas, drinks served in mason jars, flowers in little cans on every table, mixed and matched tables and chairs. Oh, and the baked potato salad was TO DIE FOR!! We ended our day in Franklin by spending hours inside an antique mall. There was just so much to look at and so many treasures to be found. I was happy to bring home a little vintage brownie camera with me. I would say that we got a little taste of everything and had the perfect Franklin experience.

Trip To Tenn: Nashville...

On our road trip we also spent a hot day in Nashville. We were all so excited to go to the city and even more excited while we were actually there. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. We spent a lot of time going into shops, one of my favorites being the Hatch Print Shop! Thanks for taking us there Uncle Greg!! We also got to shop for vinyl and look at some beautiful cowboy boots. One of my favorite things was hearing all the live music and I loved the time that my Aunt and I spent inside "Tootsie's" listening to a band play! We also ate at "Margaritaville." Apparently Keith Urban is a regular! And since I was in the South I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a burger soaked in sweet tea and toped with grilled peaches! Yum. To top it off, we also got to drive around Nashville and end our day by going to the Opry Hotel! Gorgeous and such a fun place!! My family was so great for taking us all around and I had a blast!!

10 Things I LOVE: Road Trip Essentials...

1. Starbucks' Mocha Frappuccino's. The perfect fuel for the road! 2. A pair of Tom's...or two!
3. Always bring Essie nail polishes for those little events or emergencies. 4. A sparkly backpack to tote everything around in, including my giant camera. 5. The perfect snack while driving: Fig Newtons. I am particularly fond of the triple berry flavor. 6. Maxi dresses. The ultimate style must have for traveling. I bought a tie dye one just like this for our trip! 7. My Clinique acne and face wash. Can't leave home without it. 8. A journal to jot down places, memories, and doodles. 9. My iPod touch with it's Kate Spade case. Necessary not just for music but also for tweeting and taking pictures all throughout the trip. 10. My aviator shades.
