The In-Between...

Right now I am at that point where I am ready to start listening to Christmas music and yet I'm not quite ready to let go of Fall. I guess that it might just be that I don't feel like I really got to soak up October and November as much as I wanted to. I still want to have a hot cup of cider and burn a pumpkin-flavored candle. But at the same time, I am also getting so excited for Christmas and all the decorations and festivities that come along with it. I'm telling myself that it's not time to go into Christmas mode until after Thanksgiving but I'm starting to get the itch!
What about you? Are you ready for it to be Christmastime or are you still holding on to Fall?

Basking In Autumn...

Lately I have been loving the mood-boards and collages that other bloggers have been creating! I decided to make one of my own focused on Autumn-inspired images. Being surrounded by birch trees, mini white pumpkins, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying a hot cup of apple cider- all of these things sound perfectly lovely! I'm trying to make the most of this season and take advantage of all of the things that go along with it. Looking at these photos makes me want to bask in the festivities of Fall.

Ch-ch-ch-Changes...

I have always dreamed of going to New England in the Fall and seeing the changing leaves with their vibrant reds, yellows, & oranges. The trees are beginning to change here but their colors are nothing in comparison to those that I've seen in pictures. I went out this weekend and tried to capture some our trees that are transitioning. I love this time of year when new chapters begin and it seems like we are presented with a fresh start. Fitzgerald said it best when he wrote, "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the Fall."

Is It Fall Yet?...

Even though the stores are stocked with Halloween candy and a few pumpkins are out it really hasn't started to feel like Fall around here. For the past week we've had temperatures in the high 70s and 80s and I've been walking around in tank tops and shorts. I mean, it's October! I am ready for coats and scarves and crisp breezes. I did wander outside this weekend and saw that some of our trees were starting to change color so that is a good sign. In the meantime I am trying to squeeze in Autumnal things when I can: today I had my second Pumpkin Spice latte of the season, we've watched Sleepy Hollow, and there are little clusters of pumpkins around the house.

Are you as desperate for Fall as I am?

Fall Essentials...

Fall 1

Two trends that I am loving for this fall are leather and leopard. I recently bought a leather jacket from Zara and I couldn't be happier with it. The next thing on my list is a cute pair of leopard flats. I can't decide if I want ballet flats or loafers. Hmm, decisions, decisions... And I also thought that I would just share one of my favorite albums to listen to during fall: "For Emma, Forever Ago" by Bon Iver. This record really gets me into the Autumnal mood; I've been listening to it while I do my homework at night.

Have you bought anything fun for Fall?! I would love to hear!

The Perfect Fall Day...

Last week my Aunt came to town and we decided to take a little day trip up to Glen Mills, PA. My mom and I had been dying to go back to Terrain and seeing as my Aunt is an interior decorator we thought that she would love it. I love the drive up to Glen Mills; you get to go through Baltimore and Wilmington and it's just very relaxing to me. It took us about two hours to get there and so we decided to start our little adventure off with lunch. We ate at Harvest and had the most incredible meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh Autumn weather while sharing deserts of pumpkin pie, chocolate peanut butter cake, and oreo cake.

After lunch we headed down to Terrain. I've talked about it before but it is really a magical place. They had so many gorgeous pumpkins and Autumnal displays that it really got me in the mood for Fall! Mom & I picked up a few pumpkins for the house and then we all spent some time shopping around. It was so fun to just go around and look at all of the displays and get inspired.

After a few hours at Terrain we decided to go down the street to Homegoods. My Aunt, Mom, & I are obsessed with decorating so you can only assume that we were going to do some damage here. Plus, this particular Homegoods is like the mothership; it is so huge and is combined with a Marshall's. I didn't end up buying anything but my mom and my aunt walked away with some goodies. Our final stop was to Starbucks for coffees for the drive home. I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season and it was the perfect ending to our Fall day.

It was such a great trip! I had such a fun time with my mom & aunt and it was so nice to just relax and have fun without worrying about work or anything else. I hope that there are more days like this to come!

Bundled...

I don't know about you, but I love the cold weather. You know why? Because it means that I get to wear layers! I love sweaters, scarves, tights, boots, and jackets and this is the perfect time of year to throw on some of your favorite pieces and bundle up. Hope everyone is staying warm!

All The Leaves Are Brown (& Orange + Red)...

Just looking at the brilliance of the colors of the leaves makes it undeniable that there is a God. I love the rich colors that they are already turning and they are just going to get prettier and prettier.

Fall Fashion 2012...

The Necessities:
1. Felt floppy hats or fedoras. This one is from Topshop
2. Aztec cardigans. You can find so many with different patterns and colors. I love the real chunky and oversized ones. I found this one here
3. Combat boots. The more distressed they look the better. You can also find cool ones with studs like these.
4. Leather shoulder bag. I love this one because of the color. Fall is all about accessorizing with deep jewel tones. Madewell has some beautiful bags.
5. Floral leggings. They're fun and add color to any outfit. This pair was from Topshop
6. Nail polishes in deep purples and wines. I love "Wicked" by Essie.
7. A double-breasted coat. You can't go wrong with this; it's a staple piece. Adore the length and style of the "Promenade" coat from Madewell.

Em

Full Swing...

Fall is kicking into full swing around here. Leaves are covering the ground, the trees are all sorts of brilliant colors, and we have purchased our pumpkins. Not to mention my love for all things pumpkin and cinnamon flavored is at an extreme. Fall, you grow on me more and more everyday.

First Day of October...

Well hello October! I can't believe it's here already?! I woke up this morning and it was chilly and I enjoyed my coffee while watching QVC. Yup, Fall is in full swing now. Bring on the leaves, the cold, and pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING!

Fall Cosmetic Must Haves...

When it comes to the cold time of year there I certain things that I have to have in my makeup bag. Today I thought that I would share with you 4 cosmetics that are essential for Fall.

1. Bobbie Brown Hydrating Moisturizer. I have always had oily skin, so when I take care of my face in the Fall and Winter it tends to get really dry. I mean SUPER dry! So dry that it hurts to move my face sometimes. I have tried drug store moisturizers and other brand names but nothing has worked as good as Bobbi Brown. This moisturizer soothes instantly and my dry skin goes away after just a few applications. Plus it smells really good!!
2. Nars eyeliner in Black Moon. Typically I don't wear a lot of eyeliner but for some reason I like to add it to my look for Fall. Nars makes my favorite eyeliner and I love this color because it gives the eye a smokey look.
3. Handcreme by Lollia. Along with the cold months come dry hands. I love the handcreme from Lollia because is a thicker substance so it heals your hands right away. Also it comes in mini sizes which are great to throw in your purse and there are different pretty scents to choose from!
4. Vaseline Lip Therapy. I have the worst luck when it comes to chapped lips. I've tried a lot of different chopsticks but I think this is the best by far! It works almost instantly. I put it on before bed and when I wake up my lips feel brand new. There's also different flavors to choose from!

Sweater Weather...

Did I mention how happy I am that it is starting to get a bit chilly around here?! I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of Fall over the years, but it's started to grow on me. I love the cold but I also don't like having to be all bundled up. Fall is perfect because you can wear layers but you don't have to be drowning in your clothes. I love the scarves, the tights, the cardigans; all of it! I've just started pulling out some of my favorite sweaters and I can't wait to wear them! Nothing better than a Fall day spent in an oversized sweater with a cup of warm coffee and a good book. I can't wait for those days once we get a little deeper into September...

Em

Run Down...

I can't believe I didn't blog yesterday. Shame on me! It might get a little bit slow here on the blog for a while. Life is just coming at me fast. All of a sudden I have some amazing opportunities coming my way and some big decisions to make. I just have to put everything in God's hands and pray that I make the right choices. I am going to try my best to keep up with all the blogging because I love it so much! Right now I just have to remember to let go and let God.

Also, today I felt like I took in my first breath of Fall. It was actually sweater weather (sort of) and I even wore a scarf! Tights, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and leaves! I am ready for it all. Bring it on Fall, bring it on.

Au Revoir Fall...

It's about time for me to say goodbye to Fall. Fall and all its leaves, its crisp days, and its pumpkin-flavored goodness. I've learned to love Fall, but trust me, I'm ready for Christmas.

Candied Apples...

The other night I was craving something chocolate so I decided to make candied apples. It was my first time making them but they were pretty easy and they turned out delicious! Nothing more perfect for Fall than a candied apple!
